Lake Poroto Pond-smelt Fishing

Pond-smelt fishing is part of the scenery at Lake Poroto in winter.
At the reception desk in the Information Center, hot drinks and pond-smelt
fishing sets (¥1,000) are on sale to enable visitors to enjoy smelt fishing,
easily. But don't forget to protect yourself from the cold. Tools for
drilling holes in the ice can be borrowed free of charge from the Information
Center. However, this is the only equipment that can be lent. Weekends
are particularly crowded. Fishing can be enjoyed in a more relaxed atmosphere
on weekdays.

Lake Kuttara Landlocked-salmon Fishing

It goes without saying that in Lake Kuttara, where the water quality is
the best in Japan, the best fishing is for landlocked salmon. For the
purpose of conservation and accident prevention, fishing must take place
from a rented boat that can carry up to two people, with only 3 rods each.
Meals and coffee can also be enjoyed in the Lake House.
